We are a group of five motivated and enthousiastic students doing the MSc program Health Food Innovation Management at Maastricht University. As InstantLabel, we develop a tool that helps food businesses with food legislation (e.g. food labelling, claims and marketing) through AI data-driven algorithms, for example by just scanning the product label. The EU legislation concerning food labelling can be quite challenging, complex and also be cumbersome to understand and to apply. Therefore, we believe that our tool can be valuable for startups and SMEs in the food industry that may not have the expertise or knowledge on regulatory affairs and food regulation, or (still) hire expensive consultancy agencies.
